My girls were totally different with affection. DD1 just did not do it without being begged but DD2 purposefully leans in for hugs and kisses on anything she can find all the time. She grabs the dog, leans in for a kiss, then says "awwww." My DD1 is a sweet and affectionate kid now but she just wasn't that way as a baby and young toddler.

DS isn't unaffectionate but he's super mobile and isn't into cuddling right now. I have to admit that the other day when he had a fever it was nice to hold and snuggle him all day.

My 2.5 yo was not a cuddler at all as a baby. It wasn't until she turned 18 mo that she had a big shift in wanting to cuddle. Now she runs for hugs and kisses.

My daughter is the complete opposite of affectionate. She is 2.5 yes old. I have never had a hug from her and she will let me kiss her, but i have to specifically tell her to use her lips, then maybe she will give me a quick kiss. Lately she has been getting more lovey with her babies so I'm trying to sit patiently for my love. She did hug her day care lady the other day and i was like "feel honored :-)". My son was/is a love bug, but she is just totally different then him in every way possible

My DD was like that until about 3yo. Now she's very affectionate.
