What do you consider to be a "good" credit score?
My friend and I were having a discussion about credit scores the other day. She was saying that she thought anything over 600 was a "good" score. I was thinking that it needed to be at least 675-700 to be considered "good" and should be at least 775-800 to be considered excellent. She thought I was just being a snob and said it was basically impossible for the average family to have a credit score over 750.
So what to you think is a "good" credit score? Advertisement

I would put good around 720, I believe that is the area that most lenders(not high risk) are looking at to qualify for a mortgage or other large loan.

I personally consider anything under 700 to be pretty bad.

I agree with you. Ours is always over 750, not hard for a family that pays their bills.
Seems like not the best talk to have with friends. Similar to talking about salaries....

Bankers have always told me 680 or above is good. We both fall into the excellent category and do not have debt other than mortgage.

Re: What do you consider to be a "good" credit score?
Over 700 imo... We are around 730, the only reason it is that low is due to having too much in open lines of credit. I hadn't realized till recenlty we have nearly 30K in open credit available and started closing a few that weren't used....

Re: What do you consider to be a "good" credit score?
once you hit 720 you are getting the best rates. I would call that excellent. I think 680 or 700 is the next bracket down.
