We got a letter one time addressed to the previous owners of the house. It was from the IRS and it arrived right after we got our tax return, so I ripped it open without reading who it was addressed to.
The letter was talking about seizure of assets for a $12,000 tax bill that had been unpaid - I absolutely lost my mind! My mom is a tax pro and prepares our taxes each year, so I called her freaking out and upset about how in the world did we owe the IRS $12,000 and why were they sending us this after they already issued us a return, etc. A few minutes into the phone call I realized the letter wasn't even addressed to me. (duh!) And then I had a *gasp* moment when I realized a pastor owed the IRS $12,000. ![]() Now I ALWAYS double check to see who the letters are addressed to. I don't want another couple years shaved off the end of my life! Haha |

In my old condo, the person before us was on section 8, and she had a boyfriend that wasn't on her voucher but was living there (her reason for eviction). I'm assuming the girl didn't add her boyfriends name when she forwarded the mail to her new address because we used to get all his mail for the courts, bail bonds, banks...ect! I even got a letter for eviction from a lawyer! I thought it was very odd! The worst part is that we moved a year ago and even though we don't have same last name, his mail was forwarded to our house for a little while! I finally went to the postmaster And fixed it!
