Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Questions!
I was wondering if anyone has the origional, not mini - if so, what did you use for a sheet? Can I just buy a pack and play sheet? The measurements seem close and the price is much better then $20!
Also, I was noticing on some pictures that the mattress looks 'lower' then the bed it is up to, though the 'bar' like thing is the same height. I don't know if that makes scents but I was hopping that I could just 'slide' our lo over and not have to set them down an inch or two - Am I looking at it right? Is the mattress not the same height as mine? Last edited by CntryMama; 12-16-2012 at 07:13 PM. |

Not sure about the sheet question, but you are right that the mattress will not be the same height as your bed. You will need to lower baby down a few inches. I was bummed about that too. But overall I still loved the thing. I used it way longer than was probably safe for my baby!

For anyone else who finds this thread I did find some great ideas about buying foam to raise the mattress. We still have a while so I will play with it later this week! http://www.mothering.com/community/t...ame-as-the-bed |

Re: Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Questions!
I used a pack n play sheet but had to cut the corners of it (to loosen it) to make it fit. It was just the teensiest bit too small otherwise.
And yes no rolling over and sliding baby over. At first I was annoyed by the lip but then I realized it was a good thing, kept the baby from rolling out when she was older.

Re: Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Questions!
I got two sheets with mine (all was barely used from CL) so I haven't had to search much, but I'm sure you can find something that'll work.
The mattress being recessed is supposed to be a safety feature so the baby can't roll over and get stuck in between the bassinet and the bed. So, while it isn't the most convenient, it does help with the nay sayers when they are wondering if you're going to roll over on your child, or they'll get stuck or whatever.

The sheets that go with are so much better. In fact I suggest them to use with reg. pnp. They stay on so much better and are much sager to use.

Re: Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Questions!
Yes, agree with all the PPs. I didn't like the 'drop' at first either, but I realized that I probably wouldn't be rolling over to nurse her while she was in there anyway, because then my stomach and head would be flush against the Sleeper and my knees couldn't bend up or they'd fall off the bed... so I would have had to drag her out a few inches onto my bed anyway. The little drop doesn't bother me anymore.

I agree with the PP that the actual sheets that come with it are SO much nicer because they velcro on securely and really do seem safer.

Re: Arm's Reach Co Sleeper Questions!
We misplaced our sheet while moving just after DD was born. We just put a blanket in there (flat, folded so it was the right size) so she'd have a soft non-nylon place to sleep. It worked out fine.
