Bleach with every wash mamas.. lets talk the magic amount!
I use a little bit of bleach with every load, like 2 capfuls and it makes everything so clean and smell free, literally...no detergent smell ...nothing! SO what works for you, how much do you use?

I've never thought of bleaching every load...do you do pre-folds only? And you have all white covers?

Re: Bleach with every wash mamas.. lets talk the magic amount!
depending on the size of the load, i use about 1/4cup up to 1/2 cup for a really big load.
it doesn't have to be just whites. i put bleach in the pre-wash rinse. i fill the washer and dilute the bleach before adding the diapers. |

I use 1/4 cup in my initial cold rinse/wash cycle every single time. I love it. I never have stinky diapers! :-)

Re: Bleach with every wash mamas.. lets talk the magic amount!
I use 1/8th cup (diluted with water to 1/2 cup) in my HE FL'er, added into the bleach dispenser. Tried using less and didn't work as well, have used up to 1/4 cup before per CB's instructions but really didn't need that much once I started scaling back the 1/8th did the trick for us. With my extra rinses, I am confident there isn't any hanging around. Notice some smell when I open the washer itself, but once the diapers are out I don't smell any bleach on them wet or dry. Tried doing a load for my 2yo without yesterday since we went back to sposies at night for now... no go... had to rewash this am! FYI, I was washing wipes, liners, AIOs (mf, hemp, minky), and my wetbag.

this is what I've been doing, but I use less than 1/4 cup. just a tiny splash while the water is filling. then add the diapers.

Re: Bleach with every wash mamas.. lets talk the magic amount!
I have used a "splash" which is roughly an 1/8 to 1/4 cup depending on how carefully I splash. Its added to my bleach dispenser in my long hot *gasp* sanitary cycle. i have NO Stains, no stink, no rash.
not even my MF! I've used bleach every wash for nearly 11 years now. Works like a charm.

But I also do not own any cotton prints. ![]() I have used prefolds and covers with bleach in the past. Wear and tear is about the same. Except white yellows a bit more.
