I agree with the above. Both boys & girls should always be cleaned with a wet wipe after every change. Their skin has basically been being mosturized with heated urine - urine breaks skin down.

I always wipe both of my girls with wet wipes, and I don't have any boys, but if I did, I would do the same for them. My 2yo, who is potty trained, had been getting rashes on her bottom and inner thighs when we were wiping her just with dry toilet paper...I know toddler pee is stronger than infant pee, but it still shows how important it is to get it all off. Besides, that's just yucky to have pee on you, dried or not.

Growing up I helped change a LOT of diapers (my mom had triplets)...so I remember being SHOCKED when I watched my husband's cousin change her son's wet diaper without wiping him off. We always wipe around here...for girls or boys...it's just part of the routine.

I generally wipe at every change - there have been a few exceptions, but they're rare.

I wipe my ds and dd down after every change. Poop or pee. I just use water on our wipes. I put a bit of dr bronners if it is particularly smelly. The only time i havent wiped down was when i was unable to get to a sink while out of the house.

I spritz her down with water and wipe thoroughly at every change. All over, bum, upper thighs, vulva, up to her bellybutton - anywhere that's had wet diaper on it. She is a wriggly minx, but I can't imagine walking around with pee all over my lower body

This may be a dumb question.. but I'm on my first girl after 3 boys, so don't be too hard on me. LOL

When you wipe the girl at pee changes with a wet wipe, do you wipe inside the folds every time? Or do you just wipe inside the folds if poop is in there?

Again, sorry if it's a dumb question.. but my first girl.

I do wipe down the crack, so to speak (desperately hoping my daughter never finds this, haha). I don't spread her labia apart to wipe unless there's been a really messy poop, or if I've had to use a very thick diaper cream.

We wipe just a bit as we got infection from kind of not. little light over. I was going to say I have 2 girls but expecting a boy... Excited and nervous as I haven't taken care of boy in a long time.
