Making upcycled wool soakers
I bought a 100% merino wool sweater from Goodwill and plan on making a couple of soakers out of it using Katrina's pattern. What I'd like to know is do I need to felt this sweater first? And if so how do you felt them? I've never used wool before and don't want to screw it up.
TIA!

Re: Making upcycled wool soakers
You don't need to felt it unless you think it is too thin to use as a cover.
If you want to felt it, just wash it in the washer and then dry it.

Thanks! It does seem thin, when I hold it up to a light a lot of light comes through (it's a black sweater) so I'll go ahead and felt it first.

Re: Making upcycled wool soakers
The other option would be to double up in the wet zone.

Re: Making upcycled wool soakers
I would be gentle on the felting, I have over felted a lot and once that happens there is no going back.
