Re: Uh.. what do I do?
Well, I was going to suggest taking the toilet off, but it sounds like you are in a rental and since it's sounds like you are supposed to have a specific maintenaince agreement, that might be more trouble than it's worth.
Or not, since you still don't have a place to potty.

Re: Uh.. what do I do?
I had the same issue a couple years ago, after trying everything my dad came over and took the toilet off and found out my daughter had flushed some dixie cups down there and they restacked themselves as we flushed. It took him 45 minutes of pulling them all out with pliers (they were plastic) and all was fixed. Taking the toilet off isn't a hard thing to do but if your lease says that you can't do repairs I would hold off on it if you can.

I would pee in the toilet anyways, just not flush, and continue to try to reach maintenance. Its their fault for not answering.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I'm not even going to think about taking the toilet off, since we live in a rented apartment. I wanted to try hot water, my roommate in college did that once, but the bowl is already completely full of water.
still no maintenance. I'm gonna go pee in the shower.

Is there anyone else you can call? Property manager? Landlord? That's rediculous! Otherwise call a plumber and take it out of your rent since their service is unavailable and you NEED a toilet!
We live in a rental and we've removed our toilet after it overflowed twice. Found (totally disgusting... You've been warned) old hardened poop in the bottom of the toilet. There was a shelf kinda thing before it goes down the hole in the floor and its as if someone pooped in it when there was no water (perhaps a service person while this was empty waiting to be rented??) and probably used a bucket to get it down the bowl or something and it just sat there and hardened. So we haven't had that problem since dh removed the toilet and chiseled it out on the grass while I gagged in the house. <puke> We cleaned up the area really well and replaced the wax ring and its fine now. We had to have the carpets cleaned twice before the water stains went away but now you can't even tell.

Re: Uh.. what do I do?
Yeah we keep wax rings stocked in the hall closet
Life with four boys.... but if you're renting no-can-do. I would show up in person at maintenance and put in a complaint to the landlord.

Re: Uh.. what do I do?
Squirt blue dawn dishsoap in it and let it set 15 minutes, plunge and it should flush......
that's a secret from a friend who is a maintenance man at work and then owns many rental properties....he says it has never failed him
