We have decided that all our girls will have place names (DD1 was a name we loved and decided to go with the theme when we knew we were expecting another girl).
So we have a London and a soon to be Holland .
Share your themes!

ETA all our kids have twos syllable first and middle names.

Re: Do you have a name theme? Come share! :)

My kids have Gaelic names, Kearnan, Arawyn and Tharen. Kearnan and Tharen are Irish, Arawyn is Welsh. Kearnan has an old family name for his middle name because my mother insisted if I was going to give my kids "odd" names I should at least give them normal middle names. I did give Arawyn Lorraine as a middle name but Tharen got Frost. By the time Tharen arrived I decided that he could have whatever name I liked and live with it. If he just hates his name he can change it later. I wish I had given Kearnan a different middle name (nothing too weird I just wish I had used Scott instead of William) and hadn't let dh decide how to spell it.

We did not intentionally go with a name theme. But ironically came up with one lol.
Our son is Cole. Our daughter is Ashlyn but we call her Ash. And my baby is Cally.
Now hubby is a firefighter in California. So Cole, Ash, Cally. All kind of have a theme but never planned it that way

We didn't do this on purpose, but both of the girls' names start with the same letter (as in initials are LLR and NNR for example) and both names are of Latin origin. All three kids get both their first and middle names from close relatives. That was on purpose! =D

My eldest has an English name. I named her Arabelle. My youngest is named Theo, short for Theodore which is a Russian name. But they are Americans just like me.

We use Hawaiian middle names: mine is Lei, DD's is Kei, and the Squirrel will be either Mei (for a girl) or Holokai (for a boy).

(Lei means wreath of flowers, Kei means joy or one's pride and joy, Mei means May, and Holokai means seafarer.)

My girls have three names, the first names all end in -ah. All three have a place name in their names. Savannah (Georgia) Elizabeth Grace, Mariah Alexandria (Virginia) Rose, Alannah Faith (North Dakota) Michaela.

Re: Do you have a name theme? Come share! :)

This made me laugh.

Wanna know our "theme" ?

We decided no two names in our family will start with the same letter! (b/c admittedly I hate the idea of all of the kids having same letter names So much so, that I wanted to go in completely the opposite direction.)

So, we have K, D, C, M, R and soon J. We don't plan on having more, but if we do, the next name cannot start with any of the letters already used.

We're weird. Er, different.

Oh, I guess I should add, we also include family member's names in our kid's names. I don't know why, but this is special and very important to me. It's been a family tradition in my family growing up forever, and I couldn't let it go, despite DH's opposition.

So, our DD1 is named after my paternal and maternal Gma and my Great Aunt. My DS1 is named after my FIL. My DD2 is named after both my MIL and my mother. And my DS2 will be named after my Dad.

DH hates it, as it restricts choices, but I like it b/c I feel like it honors those who helped you grow and contributed to bringing you into the world.
