I've been pondering this very issue. I'm thinking a front clasping bikini top so it's easy to pop open and remove. Dunno if I'll want or need anything on the bottom half. Doubt ill care after a certain point. Lol. Anyone else just a little freaked that were discussing birth details because they are actually really soon? I'm totally freaked. It's going by way too fast.

Re: What do you ladies wear in the tub while birthing?
Its basically a toilet - with no pot, and open in the front. I like laboring on one, but wouldn't birth on one, too much pressure on the perineum.

Birth stools are extra beneficial because they basically assist the squatting position. This allows gravity to really help get the baby out. For my second birth, I didn't push at all. I let my body do the pushing instead and I didn't have any tearing more severe than a few minor skid marks. I couldn't push effectively in the water and found it annoying altogether during my second labor. Hot, sweaty and wet was not comfortable for me.

Re: What do you ladies wear in the tub while birthing?
Thanks for all the info Mamas!
So, I have been searching a couple places for some kind of sports bra that would un-clasp in the front or back... do these types' exist and where do you find them? I am starting to get things all "ready" in my mind and bag for the upcoming birth and like your ideas of some kind of sports bra for the tub....but would love one that didn't have to go over my head when wet!

Here's a few you can get from Walmart pretty inexpensively. I personally like Danskin products

I'm having a dry homebirth, but I plan to deliver in the buff.

Just a bikini top. I would go naked, but it's being filmed and I assume not everyone wants to see my big floppy boobs.

Those look great! I never thought to check at Wal-Mart! I think I will try one of those...love the price of something that I will probably never wear again

I plan on wearing a sarong (I have three for rotation) and a nursing bra that's like a sports bra. :-)
