starting seeds pots :)

I thought we could start a thread about using recycled material as pots to start seeds just suggestions or ideas mine are:
Small plastic applesauce containers
K-cups so perfect and small
Egg cartons
Pop/beer can bottoms
Milk carton bottoms
Paper towel/toilet paper cut into small rings
That's all I have for now

Love the milk carton idea, i was just thinking the other day there has to be something I can do with them rather than just throwing them away. They would be perfect for bigger plants.

We use yogurt containers a lot. We don't really buy yogurt anymore, but still have lots of containers. We also reuse the pots we get from perennials we bought in previous years. They are perfect since that is what they are made for.

I saved some k cups, gonna try them this year! I did egg cartons, they worked ok but didn't decompose fast enough so it kinda hindered the root growth of my fast growing corn. I thought about trying the tp roll, those might be better but how would you keep the soil from washing out the bottom?

Hmm maybe cut a square of newspaper (say four layers of newspaper) set the ring on it bring it up the sides and put a rubber band around?

My local nursery has an enormous bin they fill with all of the pots, starter trays etc. they're done with. I take what I need, bleach them and reuse them every year.

I got tons of the little pots from a nursery for free, but I enjoy using,
wash basins from the hospital
detergent/bleech/softner jugs
chinese food/fast food trays
aluminum trays like for turkies
cookie tins
leftover trays from dinner places
mayo jars
butter bowls
This is odd but works SUPER well!-a lfrb with cardboard dividers added after putting plastic over the box and taping it down, like grocery bags. This worked best for me!

I have a huge garbage bag started for sprng already.

Katy, found a new one. I wanted to do something with all the leftover holliday cordial cherry trays. Found it!!! Seeds! They are perfect!
