First Birthday Gift ideas-wood and natural toys

We are minimalist when it comes to toys and don't like to let DD play with plastic toys. What should I ask for for her birthday when family asks? I don't want her to get a ton of toys that she doesn't need. My SIL was asking my DH about some foam play mat that we don't really have room for so I sent her an email asking if she still wanted birthday gift ideas and she said she's got it covered.

What are good first birthday gift ideas? What natural toys should we ask for?

sand box with bags of sand, books, wooden Melissa and Doug Puzzles (she'll grow into using them and they last multiple kids), wooden easel, art supplies as she'll be getting into that stuff this coming year, wooden play food, zoo membership, money to go to a "rainy day fund"

Money towards memberships. And yes books are great too! Gift cards for places you like to shop for natural stuff for baby maybe?

Perfect for crafts, coloring, having a snack. The chairs are a little big for a one year old but at 2 our DD can get up on her own. Her 7 yr old cousin still fits too.

Animal towel. Both of my kids have sharks and they love them.

Long pillows for kids. The stuff can still be used as the child grows up. Another gift idea for a one year old is a play mat, because I remember that my daughter's god mother gave her the mat for her first birthday.

I did a family book for baby's first birthday. Just a cheap little photo flip book with sleeves for adding 4x6 photos. Printed off photos of important people in her life and filled it up. She still loves it and runs to get it when we talk about certain cousins and family members.
