I actually didn't expect him to have that reaction. I thought we had discussed this briefly last time. But maybe not, it's been a couple years. I told him I could make it into smoothies cause I thought he'd be like 'pills are better'. But he was just like 'tell me they're vitamins'. Lol

Re: Placenta encapsulation

Just FYI when buying capsules - I got the "regular" size instead of the "horse pill" size (can't remember the letter differentiation, but not the super jumbos anyway) and I got 183 capsules out of it... So buy enough that you won't run out LOL

I've heard they are stored in the freezer.

Re: Placenta encapsulation

Maybe I haven't been taking mine right but I haven't noticed a difference. Or maybe my emotional issues are so much that the placenta pills are just too "weak" to help me.

This is kind of what I am worried about. I had severe PPD and ppa with my first and I am worried that the pills will not be enough to help. I am due in 4 weeks and planning on having my placenta encapsulated. Did anyone on here have pretty severe post partum issues with a previous child and notice a big difference when they encapsulated their placenta? Thanks!

Yes me. I had bad PPD with ds1 and then I took my placenta pills with ds2 and it was complete night and day. Everyone (my parents, DH's parents, DH, etc) said they noticed the big difference, and my mainstream mom told me she is a believer in encapsulation after that

Just brought this up with DH and he said 'please don't tell me if you do that'
this is my DH lol! Im planning to do my own placenta (partly b/c Im a germophobe and worry about cross contamination and biohazard). Ive bought all of the supplies and placed them in our kitchen (ready to go). Its funny b/c DH has definitely noticed the supplies there, but neither of us has talked about it lol! He knows Im a great big hippie, so Im sure he suspects Ill do it (I mean, what other conclusion could he draw from seeing THOSE kinds of supplies lol), but for him, ignorance is bliss :-)!! He actually routinely tells me "if you know I can handle it, please dont tell me." LOL!!!!

I think Ill kick him out of the house the day I do it, and if he asks what the capsules are, Ill do like others have suggested...tell him its "vitamins"! haha!

Re: Placenta encapsulation

I have never done it before but am going to this time for sure. While I have heard that it is easy to do myself, I have decided to hire a certified professional to do it for me. I just can't see adding that to my "to do" list in the first few days after the baby was born.

Re: Placenta encapsulation

I'm having mine done and it should be delivered to me Saturday, we'll see how it goes. I usually only have mild to moderate ppd, and I'm hoping this helps.
