Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
I've been mostly paleo since last feb. I fell off the wagon hard since thanksgiving with cookies and beer all holiday season. I need to go back to hard core paleo for two weeks and resume eating better. Now I need dinner ideas for the week...

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
We bit the bullet jan 1 and went 100% paleo for the whole family (dh and i had been mainly paleo for over a year). We are also allowing some raw full fat dairy, but a moderate amount. Its going surprisingly well! They have asked for a few standard favorites, but havent pushed back too much when told we dont have any. My oldest (5) actually asked for a spinach wrap since she couldnt have a sandwhich!
I tried to serve them kohrabi last night, and that was a big fail, lol! Oh well, maybe next time they will like it! It helped that we were sick the first few days of the month, lol!

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
subbing. hoping to find some yummy recipe ideas from you lovely ladies. I'm not paleo, but eating clean for the most part. I don't eat a whole lot of grains, mostly just quinoa and brown rice on occasion. wheat does a number on my stomach most times so I'm trying to avoid it.

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
ooooh a Paleo chat thread -
I'm excited! I started playing with getting rid of gluten sometime last year when a close friend decided to go gluten free. I didn't change my own daily eating, but started incorporating gluten free recipes into my "toolkit" and being more aware of what we were eating. Mainly I found it fun! Then, in the summer I had two more friends start spending more time with us - they were into the GAPS diet. So I started looking up even more recipes! I was having so much fun with it, and then had the book "Wheat Belly" recommended to me by yet another friend, so started cutting back on my own consumption of wheat and then grains. In October 2012 I decided to avoid grains and sugars for a bit and see if I noticed any changes. I guess I did! Nothing crazy drastic, but losing weight became much easier, my tummy got flatter, and I have fewer pimples on my face! So now I'm still enjoying adding recipes to my arsenal, mostly paleo and primal focused. DH and the kids eat pretty much whatever I serve them if we're at home, but if we're out they do eat more grains than I try to. We are going to eliminate dairy for DD again, so we'll see how that goes! We did it once about a year ago and it seemed good for her. That month broke a lot of dairy-dependent habits in our eating, so hopefully the same thing will happen this time too! I have a photo from feb 2012 vs dec 2012... but I'm trying to decide if I should post it in an open forum! LOL The change in my tummy area is pretty cool tho. Especially since I wasn't really making die hard rigid changes. and I wasn't "dieting"! Here's to a paleo/primal 2013!!! Thanks for making this thread!!

Re: Paleo Chat Jan, Feb & March 2013
I made pumpkin pancakes today for lunch and they were amazing! I usually try to avoid replacement dishes because i never like the paleo version of a traditional wheat filled dish. Im surprised we all liked these!
1 can pure pumpkin 8 medium eggs, or 6 large Dash vanilla Dash cinnamon Pinch salt 1/4tsp baking powder 1/2c almond flour Coconut oil or butter for the pan Mix, cook and enjoy!

![]() (egg and banana pancakes - blend an egg and a banana together, add vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc, if you want to, then cook! They're a bit more like crepes than pancakes. But if you want more fluffiness you just add a half cup of nut butter! sooooo easy. and I think they taste awesome. The riper the banana the sweeter the pancake)
