Quit cold turkey and developed mastitis , now what?

I just quit cold turkey a few days ago when my dd was one week old. Now I have mastitis and it's virtually impossible to care for my newborn and 14 month old. I have TERRIBLE flu like symptoms and of course awful breast pain. I did start taking the antibiotic yesterday.anyone have experience with the situation? How long till you were feeling better and how long will it take for my milk to dry up. I don't pump so need advice .. Don't want to try a lot of the remedies fora stories because those encourage milk production and I'm trying to do the opposite. Is it possible ?
