Please tell me it gets easier..

We're only a month in and so far we've battled with the nipple shield and mastitis. Now, I have a sore bleeding nipple on one boob and a plugged duct on the other. I'm in so much pain. Please tell me that it does actually get better. I've had a bad day and just need a few words of encouragement.

We didn't really settle in and get it figured out til about 10-12 weeks. The first 6-8 weeks were very rough.

Hang in there. It really does get easier and the payoff is so worth it! Hang in there. If you are on meds for the mastitis you'll feel relief really quickly.

I had those problems, so I feel your pain. The meds got rid of the infection really fast though. As for the clogged ducts, keep feeding your baby or pumping (or both). Also, I found that I kept getting them because I was lifting my baby too much when my breast were really full in the morning. Now I just have someone else bring the baby to me in the morning and I don't have any clogged ducts anymore. Anyways, it will get better, just keep going. It's worth it. Plus breastfeeding is easier then bottle feeding (in the long run).

Lansinoh always worked so well for my nipples with my first.

Nurse on demand, lansinoh, and propping your arms with pillows should help. It gets easier!
