Re: Another old skool challenge?
Still going but I cheated a lot this week with our Sandy's because DS has been pooping up a storm and I am tired of scrubbing wool! He's currently in a snappied prefold under a Dappi which is such a trim combo. DD is in a Tinkle something trainer with a flat.

Re: Another old skool challenge?
NOOOOOO!!!!!! I cheated! Accidentally. I wanna cry! I've been so proud of the fact that we've been doing just flats all this time. I was sorting through our diaper stash, separating out the ones I'm going to gift and sell. Well, LO woke up from his nap with a slightly red bottom and I thought "Oh, let's just do some coverless time" and without thinking just picked up a fitted from the tub of diapers and slapped that baby right on his bottom. I didn't even realize it until about 30 minutes later when I sat down to nurse him and realized oh crud he's not wearing a flat! Boohoo!

Re: Another old skool challenge?
You ladies have totally inspired me! I am getting ready to have my 4th LO and have been toying with the idea of trying flats! I LOVE prefolds and had pretty much made up my mind that I would just use them along with some fitteds for DH, but NOW I want to give flats a try! THANK YOU!!! I will be starting a new thread soon and hope that you will all respond! I need to be totally schooled in how to use flats and which covers work best! Oh, and the folding is what scares me the most!! Thanks again for the inspiration!

Coming in on our final day since we end on the 1st! I did not stick with it like I thought I would! At least she is in a flat right now. How did you all do?

Re: Another old skool challenge?
That's all we've been using since DD was born in December. Grandma put her in a sposie once, I must admit, but it leaked when I was nursing her so we quickly went back to flats.

Now my whole working stash is all flats. I packed my pf's away and I have learned the value of folding right out of the dryer. I have pockets with flats for daddy and lazy day quick diaper change days and I prefolded all my flats into a diaper that I can just put on and snappi. I LOVE the trimness and my 9 month old doesn't need a doubler yet so that is awesome. I think I just got tired of flats when dd3 was a newbie and I was so overwhelmed, I had no time for folding flats. So this challenge has reminded me of my love for flats. Now I am even MORE ready for cottonbabies to hurry up and release their new flat insert!

I'd say I've been hovering at around 85% flat usage
Not perfect, but not too bad. Of course we are using sposies again due to a bad rash. Ugh. I wanted to ask y'all...do you find that hanging to dry gives you less curly edges than drying in the dryer? I've always used the dryer for my flats because I don't have a clothesline, but if t means neater edges I might go for it. For some reason it seems like t would help, but I have no idea if it really does. |
