CDers at Hospital

For those who planned to CD while in the hospital how many did you bring, use, and how long we're you there?

We left the morning of day 3, brought 6 fitteds, 6 AIOs, 6 prefolds, and 3 covers = plus a wetbag. The nurses loved our cloth

Re: CDers at Hospital

DS was born at 9:15 am. I left at 9 pm. Would have been sooner if the ped had seen him as he was called for before he left for the day. Had to wait on the house doc who tried to terrorize us, told me that my son would bleed to death from a brain bleed and tried to insist we stay for the standard 3 days. My discharge papers were signed at 9:45...so, no go!

I took 4 diapers with me. All flannel fitteds with covers.

I was wondering this same question. Cinderella-were 18 diapers enough for your 3 days? Most likely I'm going to be in the hospital for at least 2 days so I'm considering packing for more just to be safe.

Yep! Because my milk didn't even come in til day 4 when we were at home, so with just colostrum they don't pee a *ton* - so I didn't even use all 18.

Re: CDers at Hospital

I brought 24 diapers, 24 wipes, and 2 wetbags LOL - but I was a home birth turned emergency transfer so I thought I was going to be there for at least 3 days. Everything turned out great and I only stayed 24 hours. We used I think 8 diapers? We used a lot more wipes though cause of the mec. (cloth works WAY better than sposie wipes!). My only piece of advice is to make sure your cloth is easy to put on/off. Nurses don't know how to use snappis so they tend to yank them off and have NO clue how to put it back on!!!

Oh, and they all LOVED the cloth!

How did you rinse the diapes? In the sink or the bidet type thing on the toilet? Did you rinse them or did DH (or both?) I planned on using disposables just in the hospital, but I want to take a couple because I can't wait to use them!!

I'm the same-should be at the hospital for 2 nights and don't want to bring home laundry but I'm excited to use them you don't need to rinse them, though, unless you plan to formula feed.
