My water just broke!

How's labor going? Any progress yet?

Well, we have a happy, healthy baby boy (Calvin Robert) who is 7lbs 7oz. I started pit at 8am or so and active labor never started. At about 3 they checked and I was just barely over 1cm. They offered to do an internal monitor so they could turn the it up safely. We tried that and I had good contractions for 3 hours, but I really didn't feel like anything was happening.

They checked me at 6pm but no cervical changes. I decided my body was just not ready. I chose to save my energy and mental health and opted for a c-section. (at this point my membranes had been ruptured for 38 hours). He was born at 8:14pm!

Awwww, congrats new mama!!!! Glad everything turned out in the end, even though you didn't get your chosen labor.
