Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
I lost my baby at 8 weeks but didn't have any cramping or spotting until 11w5d, so I had no idea this happened. I had symptoms up until about 10 weeks (and maybe a few days), though I never had real strong symptoms (which should have tipped me off earlier). I hardly bled at all after the spotting started but had horrible lower back pain (due to contractions) and ended up needing a D&C about 4 days after this all started. I never had an early u/s done and now wish I had so I would have found out sooner. My first u/s was at the hospital in emergency due to the horrible pain and the fact that I was pretty sure I was miscarrying.
I hope this is not the case for you! I've heard that early on, before 8 weeks, it is sometimes difficult to find a HB on an u/s. Hopefully that is just the case and that the bleeding stays away and the symptoms remain. Plus most women I know have not been able to find the HB with a doppler until around 12w. Sending

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
My baby at 8 1/2 weeks was tiny! It looked like nothing more than a blob or booger. I would not recognize it as a baby but it did have a heartbeat...really tiny and not very regular at that point. I am sorry you are going through this mama, I had a bleed at 15 weeks and it is very unsettling. Hope tomorrow brings new hope
![]() On a side note: my roommate lost a baby and it doesn't always happen quickly...it took her 3 weeks of spotting and bleeding, feeling fine and then losing it. And hers had a heartbeat. She unfortunately has a tilted uterus and has gone through so much heartbreak. Prayers for you and your bean

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
there was NO tissue. only blood/ I looked thru everything. had 3 other miscarriages and saw 1 baby with one and 1 sac with another. i know this one will have way more tissue and a obvious tiny fetus when i do miscarry.
and thats why I went in to the US. I thought ok I must be miscarrying but whats the hold up... then the dr saw everything sitting in there, all connected to my walls. and a super tiny fetus. looked like a bean. no legs or arms, just a head and tail. the earliest I even had a scan was 8 weeks and some days and that baby had looked similar w limbs and a beating heart. I DO NOT want to wait a month. I cannot stand being sick to begin with it, let alone only being sick cause I have a missed miscarriage. NO fricken way. I have 5 kids to take care of and being this ill is making taking care of them near impossible, plus they dont know I was even pregnant nor will i tell them. I will just go work out and see if that helps move things along if indeed I am to have this happen. i think its pointless to take herbs now if the contents inside are attached to me. taking herbs will contract me, but possibly not enough and could lead to stuck placenta and excessive bleeding. im super afraid to go to hospital for a d&c. gah, that terrifies me. i just hate hospitals. so in the meantime, my days consist of eating what I can, trying to not pass out from the dizzies and taking unisom to try to not puke each day. well I puked yesterday anyway, just trying to take that pill.

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
Sorry for the blurry pic. This was 6 weeks, no heartbeat, the baby was .44 cm. I didn't get a pic at 8 weeks, but I don't remember seeing a ton more.

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
cdweese, are you still pregnant w the baby pictured above? i had more shown than that but again, I do read its common to not see a heartbeat on some this early...
what I cant find out is it all will have blood flow to baby (they did a color screen on it real fast) and I saw no blue or red near baby, just in my bladder. when I used doppler again 2 times it said 90-100. but didnt last long and I didnt hear it. my pulse is about 60 so i am not sure what it was picking up. maybe just the placenta. im not going to get my hopes up on just that tho. still havent heard back about getting in for an ultrasound at different office

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
Definitely have another u/s, with maybe a week in between to see if there has been any growth or change in the situation. Good luck!

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
It sounds like there's definitely hope! Like I said before, and several others have also said, ultrasounds are definitely not that accurate in early pregnancy (baby is simply too small), especially prior to 8 weeks. How far along are you now? I hope you get a clear picture soon and that everything is fine.

Re: for those w miscarriage after 7 weeks
Did you have a vaginal u/s or abdominal? They switched to vaginal with me because it is more accurate for early pregnancy and more likely to find a heartbeat.
