Ugh. So sorry. It's always such a relief to have some kind of reason though, even if its not a pleasant one. We are there with other med issues our son is having. I feel your pain.

Oh hugs sorry, i thought that's what it was sounding like. As i mentioned my dh's family has several kiddos with that. But all the kids have made full recovery from the surgeries and are happy healthy active kiddos...but it is a rough rough road, ain't no sugar coating but yourworld will be full of poop for a while

So sorry but at least maybe you have an answer. DD2 was ruled out for hirshprung's when she was an infant. Thankfully that wasn't it, ended up just anal stenosis (had to be digitally stretched weekly for 3 months) and dairy intolerance (and probably some other foods but I just did TED and that helped). Outgrew everything by her first birthday. I've heard great success stories with the corrective surgery for hirshprung's so hopefully if that's it she has a great outcome.

Thanks everyone. She FINALLY pooped last night. Don't think I've ever been so thankful for poop. We still don't know for sure. Her xray showed some distension as well as a lack of air in the lower intestine/rectal area, which is apparently unusual. They will need to do a barium enema this week which is also why I'm so glad she pooped on her own because she can't have any suppositories before that procedure. In the coming weeks she's going to be put under for a rectal biopsy that will for sure tell us if it's hirschsprung's, which, to answer a pp's question, is when the colon doesn't form enough nerve endings. The lack of nerve endings inhibits the bowels from letting go. Poop will just build up until the pressure of it forces it to come out. Most babies are caught in the first week of life, but some kids don't find out until they are older, probably because it's more mild. Totally not the answer we are looking for, so we are hopeful it's not this, but an answer is better than not knowing anything.
