Peanut shell sling?
I saw one on a local FSOT board. It's pretty and is a good deal, but I don't know the first thing about baby wearing! Slings look like the easiest/most convenient thing to use for this newbie in April, so before I buy it, does anyone have any input? Do you have one? Love it, hate it, why? Thanks, mamas!

That's what I started out with and loved it! Just make sure it is a good fit. You can go on their website to see size chart and pictures on where baby should be positioned. It was a little more snug than I expected but I used it from birth on towards a year or so. Very easy to carry with you and put on!

Re: Peanut shell sling?
I don't like pouch style slings ie hotslings, peanut shell etc with newborns/infants at all as they can be tricky to get positioned correctly, and if you don;t have them positioned correctly it can be dangerous. If you like the sling idea I would get a ring sling like maya wrap or sakura bloom or SBP makes great ones too. Or SSC's like the Beco Gemini or Pikkolo are also great for newborns too

Re: Peanut shell sling?
I have a peanut shell pouch and honestly never used it once. I had a ring sling that I used quite a bit. Hard to get a good fit with a pouch was my biggest issue. I honestly thing ring slings are easier to use!

Re: Peanut shell sling?
I've never personally had a pouch sling. I was thinking about getting one but heard they are hard to get a good fit, but ring slings kind of scared me so I tried a friends out and I'm so glad I didn't get a pouch sling, I absolutely love ring slings.

Re: Peanut shell sling?
I found it to be uncomfortable for both baby & myself. I used it as a quick hip carry for my older baby when we went shopping though.
