Ds will be 5 in march. He's about 47lbs and 46" tall. I'm considering getting a frontier, which would ideally also be used by the new baby due in July, when the time comes. Or I can get a high back booster. I'm guessing the booster would be more narrow, but I think the frontier would fit fine next to the Chicco key fit. We have a 2010 Mitsubishi galant. Dh thinks I should just get a booster. Ds sits very still in the car, so I don't think that would be a problem. But I'm trying to think long term. Just not sure if I should plan 3-4 yrs ahead, lol! There may very well be a better seat by then!

Re: Wwyd? Reg. new combo seat, baby on the way!
I would get a Frontier. We have 4, and LOVE them. You will get so much more mileage out of them than you will a booster, and it is so much safer to keep them harnessed longer. Plus, when your oldest is using it in booster mode, it can be secured by the LATCH so when he isn't in the car, it isn't a projectile that could injure your youngest. By the time the newbie needs a FF seat, your oldest will probably be big enough for a backless. Plus, the Frontier has a 9-year expiration date.

Will he fit in a Secure Kid? If you only aim to harness for another year or so, a Frontier may be more seat than you need. That being said, I love mine.

Yes, I'd like to harness awhile longer, without getting much more seat than I need! I'm looking at the graco nautilus. It looks like ds would fit well and it could be used by the new babe when I go from RF to FF and hopefully not expire until new babe is 5+.

Test out the Nauti. The crotch buckle is short and some boys complain it hurts their boy bits. Others aren't bothered by it.

Thanks! I was just gonna order it on Amazon. I guess we'll have to make a trip to BRU now.

My target is out of stock but Walmart says limited stock. Doesn't wm have their seats attached to the shelf?

Re: Wwyd? Reg. new combo seat, baby on the way!
I went to BRU and tried some seats, but not all of them. Here's what I tried, plus my notes....
Evenflo sure ride: too tight on boy parts Graco nautilus: crotch strap under butt, too tight Evenflo securekid400: deep seat but pushes head forward Maestro: comfy but only harnesses to 50lbs Graco Argos: Seems like a deeper seat than the nautilus... Anyone have crotch strap depth on this one? Other seats that I didn't try but can go back to try.... Trendz fast back evenflo triumph 65 safety first alpha elite complete air 70 graco mysize 70 evenflo symphony xl I also went to target and the nautilus seemed to have a deeper seat but I could not for the life of me get the crotch strap out to put it on the second setting. My options are to either get ds a combination seat that will eventually booster and last him a long while or get him a convertible that he can use until the new baby needs it and then get him a dedicated booster. I'm so confused!
