My mirena story *possible trigger* ~update pg 4~

I am so sorry you had to go through that! An OB I had with second pregnancy was talking about birth control and she was telling me how the mirena perforated HER uterus. Then she recommended me to get one after the baby- yeah,no. Will think of you mama.

And wow, Mirena is REALLY pushed by Drs. I went to my OB to get a tubal and she basically said "NO". She told me to get a Mirena, I've had one before and decline.

I am so, so sorry!

This is one of the big reasons why I never got an IUD. I do read the risks and such and this was just not something I was comfortable with, no matter how small they tried to make the risk seem. On top of the preferoation fear so many people I know have had IUD/IUC fail it's scary!

I had a paraguard perforate my uterus and lodge into my intestine. I don't know what is going on with the complications of these devices, but it makes me very angry.

Op, I am very sad for your story. I wish you didn't have to endure that pain.

I also do not understand what's going on with these devices also - and the thing that makes me even more upset is the fact that Bayer (makers of mirena) is coming out with a new iud next month called Skyla and from what i can tell it is just about the same as Mirena....wondering if mirena is being replaced because of the legal issues it is having

While I was watching TV today I saw an add for a law firm trying to find people that had significant issues with Mirena. Lawsuits are underway according to their site:
