Five days ago my daughter requested a hair cut... *before pic added

As for me, I'm scarred from my childhood so no. I was such a tomboy and my mom was so kind and let me have my hair super short until 11 when I let it grow out. As a child people would ask me if I was a boy or girl... ask me... so embarassing. People would call me boy names (esp. old people) and so on And looking back in pics, I'm sad I look like a boy in many of them. So, I'm going to be a mean mom and make my daughter have longer hair. I think your daughter's hair looks really cute though!

Love it! I second the request for before pics. No I would not let my DD at this age because her hair is super curly and fine so I think she would look like she was wearing a tiny clown wig. However if she was over 12 I guess if she wanted to rock a tiny clown wig that would be her choice!

I'm going to warn you now that this may not have the effect you want. My mother was that mean mom and I hate her for it. It has scarred our relationship in many ways and to this day I will not have hair past my shoulders, in fact most of the time I shave my head completely. My mother never let me cut my hair EVER. I had to wear long hair because she loved my long hair. I hated my hair. It was hot and miserable. I hated having it combed, hated that it was hard to care for (and it was almost impossible for me to care for it on my own until I was in my teens) just hated everything about it. I pleaded to cut my hair but was never allowed. Finally when I was 17 I shaved my head. I have not had hair past my shoulders since and shoulder length hair was even a brief style for me. I just can't stand my own hair and I still resent my mother for not allowing me the freedom to do what I wanted with my own hair. It is my hair and my body. I know for a fact she hates the way I wear my hair now I just can't be bothered to care. She also hates the way my kids wear their hair (ironic since they both have long hair) but again, I can't seem to find it in me to care.

OP, yes I would allow my dd (if I had one) to cut her hair like that. I think your dd looks adorable and so proud of herself besides. I allow my children to do whatever they want with their hair provided they keep it clean and groomed (within reason and with my help as reasonable for their ages). I see no reason to limit what they can do with their own hair, it is only hair after all, it grows back. Kearnan has almost always kept his hair long but Tharen experiments with styles from time to time.
