BC/family planning after the baby?

I'm getting Essure at. 8 weeks post partum. I'm done, 4 kids, just about to turn 30, good timing and ready for a new chapter.

We've used the pull out method and a bit of charting and it has worked for us. We conceived the last two on the first try and DD1 within a couple cycles. I don't want to go on any birth control.

I always start cycling again at 4-5 months postpartum even though I breastfeed exclusively. If I have to have a c-sect I am getting a tubal. If not I might get the mirena in a few months.

It's the new way of sterilization for females. We get prego fist try. This time i got prego, inoculated 5 days after dtd! That's some strong sperm! We think baby and turn up prego

But how does it work? Commercials make it sound reversible but don't really give any info!

We haven't talked about it at all, honestly. This is our first child. I wouldn't mind having one more. DH already feels like he's pushing it with his age, so I don't know if we might be "one and done." We're going to play it out organically for a while.

Essure is a coil they insert into your tubes. It's a clinical procedure so you could go into your doc's office and get it done. I'm thinking mirena for us because we aren't done but I'm going to wait until BFing is well established (3 months or so). I got pregnant on the mini pill (wasn't BFing) so I feel like we need something a little stronger this time. I would seriously go crazy if I got pregnant soon after this one. Not that I don't love my babies!!

As DH puts it, bring on #5. So there's my answer, LOL. Because I bf, my cycles are usually 6+ months out, but we did get pg with #3 at 8mnths PP, so there is hope. In fact she is still nursing and here I am almost 30wks with #4, LOL.
