Re: Would your DH/SO go to the hospital?
DH would if he had to. But...he's a lot more sensitive/squeamish regarding medical stuff than I am (he nearly passed out when I was getting an epidural with our first baby)...so unless there was a REALLY good reason I couldn't be there, I'd be the one to do it.

Hospitals are "my area"! If he had to, then he would in a heart beat! He went with the kids when they were born to all their checks while in the hospital!

We'd probably both go, but if one of us had to stay behind, he certainly would take our kids if they needed to go!
I can't believe the 5YO had to wait!! I would have said tough, if my husband had refused to go... I may be more understanding if the guy has some phobia or anxiety issue......

If needed, DH absolutely would, but more than likely, it would be me. For a serious emergency, we'd both go. For something like a broken bone, I'd probably go and leave him with the other kid. If I were OP's friend, I would have given DH the choice of staying or going. If he didn't pick one or the other, I'd take DS to urgent care and leave DH home with the party.

Re: Would your DH/SO go to the hospital?
Yep, he would. He prefers me to go, or for all of us to go, as I understand more of the medical stuff than he does, but in the situation in the OP, he would take the child to the hospital since I don't drive, and I'd stay with the party. Worst case, if he was THAT uncomfortable with taking the child, he'd stay with the party, and I'd take a cab with the sick child to go.
I mean seriously, the party was a bunch of 14 year olds, not a posse of toddlers. When they're that age, you're there to supervise that they don't wreck the place, not wipe noses and butts. They'll pretty much have their own fun without you at that age. I understand hospital phobia, but man up already!

Re: Would your DH/SO go to the hospital?
The 2 or 3 times we've needed an ER or urgent care, it's been DH who takes the hurt child (and I've been home with the other 2). Of course, mentioning the NICU. Our oldest was early, and spent a week in the NICU. He wasn't there the whole time, but he spent quite a bit of time there with us (I had already been in the hospital for 2 weeks, and he was trying to save time for when we came home).
