Almost passed out in BRU
So today DH and I had dr appts and decided to go shopping for some baby stuff. We were in BRU for about an hour and were checking out and I starting to feel very faint- my eyesight was kinda distorted (only peripheral) and I felt very nauseous and dizzy. I kneeled down to keep from falling and told DH I needed a drink.
Rewind last weekend we were in KRoger and I felt faint and lightheaded, but I hadn't eaten much in a couple of days. I just assumed this feeling was about not getting enough nutrition but then today it happened again today and I ate last night and this morning. MW was concerned at last appointment about GD- so I had my dr. check sugars today and will find out more on Monday. What do you think?

Re: Almost passed out in BRU
I think your blood sugar dropped which is totally normal. At this point in our journey we really need to eat every 2-3 hours. I wouldn't cry GD just yet. Make sure you are eating often and see if the problem continues.

Re: Almost passed out in BRU
I get that way after being under the fluorescent lights. Could that also be a reason for you?

It also may be a blood pressure issue I had pre-e/ hellp syndrome & when my blood pressure was up I'd get light headed & feel bad to & the fluorescent lights killed me. The billi lights in the nicu after birth also messed with me. So if its not gd ask about blood pressure. Now that I've got it under control its not as bad but I can always tell when my pressures are high

Re: Almost passed out in BRU
My blood pressure has steadily been around 100/70-80 the whole pregnancy. It was checked maybe 1 hour before this occurred. I am going to see what the blood work says when it comes back.

It could be anemia. Have your DR check your iron levels. I have dealt with this in all of my pregnancies, and it isn't fun!

I'll second the anemia. I just had to take iron supps to compensate.

Re: Almost passed out in BRU
This, exactly. I've gotten like this on 3 different occassions, and both were days that I didn't eat much. I get dizzy, nauseaus, my vision becomes blurry, my heart races, and I get hot flashes. I usually feel better shortly after eating something, but I also end up with a massive headache. The first time, I didn't realize I hadn't eaten anything that day (loss of appetite) and as soon as the symptoms hit I freaked thinking it was Pre Eclampsia. But my BP was perfect and I realized I needed to eat something... which took care of the problem. I've since made it a habit to eat small snacks every 3hrs regardless if I'm hungry or not, and I haven't had an issue since.
