Binky, and did he eat enough?
Figured out after a marathon night last night that my 4-day-old wants something in his mouth at all times, and a binky is useful. Problem is, I'm not sure how to tell if he's had enough to drink when I nurse him now. Even before I nursed him this morning, he took a binky happily while I peed real quick, even though I know he was hungry at that point. So, then I nursed him for a while, but I don't know if be was done nursing. He's sitting there with a binky in, content, but I'm scared he might not have eaten enough. Yesterday, he was nursing the entire day long, with multi-hour stretches where he cried anytime he wasn't nursing, and did that most of the night too, but once he got a binky, he's been happy since.
Any tricks? My daughter wasn't like this, so I'm totally at a loss to determine when he's hungry and when he's had enough. |

My son is still addicted to the paci. When he was little like that, if he was hungry, a pacifier would never satisfy him. I think you will find that as well after the newness of it wears off.

Re: Binky, and did he eat enough?
Yep ditto pp. DD had to be sucking on something. I had horrible cracked nipples and no way could I be her paci and I had no desire to either. When she was hungry the paci wouldn't work. She would suck for a bout 2 seconds and then spit it out.
