epsom salt bath for sick kids? safe?

My kids are 3 and 4 (this march)...both have a fever/sick...anyone ever do epsom salt bath for kids? If so how much do u put in?

I have, I do it if they've had a busy day too. I just sprinkle a bit in. If they drink the water I wouldn't do it.

Epsom salts are not toxic to ingest though, right? It is just magnesium. It is so bitter, I doubt a kid would drink more than a sip!

Not toxic, but will give diarrhea. And you are only putting a tiny amount in the tub, so there wouldn't be a taste, and because of that there probably wouldn't be any diarrhea, but to be safe, that's what I stick with

Drinking Epsom salts are a treatment for constipation I think. But I'm pretty sure you have to consume a bunch to make that happen. I've gargled with pretty strong concentrations of Epsom salt and water. It has a strange salty sweetness to it but nothing that a kid would want to drink.

If you want to bath a kid in it, I wouldn't worry. I think there are instructions on the box.

If they drink a lot. It is so bitter, I doubt it would happen! I take magnesium internally very day and I am fine.
