Re: Fertilizer
in the past I've used aged horse manure, never steer as it ALWAYS seems to burn the roots old or not. This is the first year I'll have chicken manure! The whole winter I've been tossing the bedding directly on my veggie plot but come planting time it will have to go in the compost bin to break down for a few mos before it can go on the plot. I hear it can burn like crazy.

Re: Fertilizer
Last year we used fish emulsion on the roots and a foliar spray. We also made compost tea with bat guano.

Oh and Natasha if I misread and you actually meant what PLANT stages, I do a weak solution when they've hit the 2 or 3 true leaves stage as seedlings and then when they start to flower/bear fruit and again in late july or august when they're mid bearing season and stressed from the heat. I also use liquid fertilizer for those, in the past I've used virigo (sp?) but this year I want to go to all-fish emulsion if I need it.
