Prefolds feeling stiff??
I have GMD unbleached prefolds and they are feel stiff and don't seem that quilted compared to some bleached ones I have. I don't think it is my wash because I wash them together and the others are not stiff. Does anyone know whats could be going on?? I have been using them for 3 months so then have been washed plenty of time

Re: Prefolds feeling stiff??
Use some Ecover or Seventh Generation Fabric softener in a downy ball.... works wonders.

Re: Prefolds feeling stiff??
Mines get like that I think it's because of our hard water. I just use Ecover to make them soft again.

Before I started using softener I had to soak my dipes in washing soda and then wash with softener. I like ecover better than 7th or Mrs Meyers but I can't get ecover locally.

Re: Prefolds feeling stiff??
The diaper store by my house said not to use fabric softener that my diapers will get build up quick. Do you diapers get build up from ecover?

Bleached were always quiltier IME. Ecover never caused build-up for me. I have heard Mrs Meyers will though. I've never used it though.

Re: Prefolds feeling stiff??
I've never used ecover on diapers but I have heard it works okay. When I wanted to try fabric softener on my clothes it was what I got so that the reside wouldn't be bad for the diapers -- never had a problem with that
\I've been hearing that unbleached aren't as soft as bleached.

Re: Prefolds feeling stiff??
vaska at target? i need to check that out! i've never used softener but hear ecover is great with fitteds, hemp or bamboo blends that just get kinda stiff after wash/dry. might get some vaska to help with my pf's too- they're UB, not hard but just wanna try it out- hope it doesn't backfire. i wish there were free cd softener samples out there!
