HE top loader. How to gt the stink out?
My diapers are stinking. Normally I would strip, but I have a newer washer that is a top loading HE.
If I try to stop the wash cycle, the water all drains out. So, how do I get the stink out if I can't strip appropriately? I usually use Rockin Green Hard Rock, right now I'm using Bum Genius (going to go back to RNG once this box is gone). Wash routine: Wash cycle on cold, no soap, "extra rinse" and "deep clean" turned on. Hot wash cycle with soap, "extra rinse" and "deep clean" turned on. Suggestions? God bless!

Do you have a soak setting?

When I tried to use Vinegar before, it made it worse. I think it has something to do with the hard water.
No, the Deep clean will give you a longer soak and some extra water and extra aggitation, but there is no soak setting. God bless!

Re: HE top loader. How to gt the stink out?
After they are clean, could I just run a couple of hot cycles with no soap? Would that do anything?
God bless!

I would just add a 1/4 C of bleach to your next wash. Do an extra rinse or two and that should get rid of the stink.

Would the chlorine free bleach work? Or do I need to go buy original bleach? God bless!

I have read a couple of different things that may help. In your initial rinse cycle add 1/4c baking soda. Or you could use an added water softener. Colgon I believe can be picked up just about anywhere. Also read just today that if you are having smelly diapes it's usually microfiber that is the culprit. I don't know if any of this is news to you, but if not, hope it helps!!

Re: HE top loader. How to gt the stink out?
I would switch to Tide, the CD specialty detergents have a hard time getting the diapers clean enough in hard water.
Otherwise, bleach is probably your best bet, and use more detergent than they recommend, the two tablespoons recommendation doesn't cut it in the long term for most people. |
