And when do you add it? With the detergent?

I use one scoop but I have slightly hard water. Neighbor just uses on whites as the whites get dingy with slightly hard water here and an elder's wisdom for the area. So I think it would depend on water type.

Yeah I just add it in with the detergent

half a scoop for a pre-wash cycle- but we have VERY hard chlorinated water... its necessary to remove the additional mineral build up we get with normal washing.

I'm beginning to wonder if I have hard water. I don't get any suds in my washing machine. I was thinking about trying the calgon in it. Are you saying that the oxyclean will help with that too?
