Easy Yet effective homemade laundry soap...
Give me your recipe for homemade soaps, the easier the better. Needs to be effective, especially on cloth diapers. List everything I will need, like large buckets, etc. My Tide is almost gone, and if I can make something myself that will work and last a long time...in addition to saving money...that's what I want to do!

I make this one and it works great! I was able to buy all the ingredient at Walmart (including already grated soap). I only added one bottle of the Purex crystals or you can leave them out entirely. Have been using this now for over 6 months and still have a ton left. I usually use a normal laundry scoop size in my large top-loader.

I forgot to mention- I do not use this on my cloth diapers. But I know there are some cloth diaper safe homemade detergents on Pinterest.

Re: Easy Yet effective homemade laundry soap...
I can't imagine it would hurt them...I use Tide now. Maybe I will make a batch without the Purex Crystals for the diapers and then a batch with for everything else!

I thought I read somewhere that Zote and Fels Naptha were not good to use on diapers. I made something similar to this before and I used Dr. Bronner's Castile soap, which I guess is ok?

Re: Easy Yet effective homemade laundry soap...
I will look into that. Supposedly Tide isn't good either, but I've used it on them for years with no problem lol

Re: Easy Yet effective homemade laundry soap...
I use that recipe too! I used it on my cloth diapers and it was no problem... and like you, for the past 6 years I've been using Tide on my diapers and have never had any ill effects! LOVE this detergent recipe, the laundry has a very light scent and comes out really clean!

Re: Easy Yet effective homemade laundry soap...
I've been using this recipe since thanksgiving. The only thing I will do different next time is buy a face mask I felt like I was dying each time I emptied something in my bucket, the "dust" was terrible.
