Leg aches???
Both of my boys get leg aches at night. They will come into my room crying because their legs hurt and the only thing that calms them down is Tylenol and me rubbing the sore leg until they relax.
I've tried several things...including potassium and increasing water intake. I remember having them terribly as a child and I hate that my boys are dealing with them now . Anyone else have experience?? My ped thought I was crazy.

Re: Leg aches???
Growing pains. My son gets them too. Not much you can do beyond what you are already doing. I rub arnica cream on ds, but I'm not sure if it's any more effective than rubbing alone.

Yeah that's what I figured.
I hate that it hurts enough to being them to tears.

Re: Leg aches???
Maybe some more stretching during the day? If the muscles aren't as tight it may help...

Re: Leg aches???
I got these a lot in middle school. Leg warmers, especially tight ones, helped me a lot.
I agree that stretching is a good idea. You could make it a part of bed time routine along with a short rubdown. As an adult I discovered epson salt baths help sore muscles.

Ooh...I remember Epsom salt baths as a child. Maybe I'll try that. Stretching isn't a bad idea either. Thanks girls!!

Re: Leg aches???
I used to get these as a kid and ds gets them now too. I had them in my feet though and thats what hurts him too. He wakes up crying at night and wants me to rub his feet. I remember my mom rubbing my feet when I was a kid. My dd doesn't get them though....
If you figure something out that works, post it here so I can try it next time for ds.

Have you tried a magnesium/calcium supplement?

Re: Leg aches???
Potassium and magnesium. The combo helped. I had them horribly as a kid. Crying at night.. I started vitamins on the advise of a doctor at 12. He was an old school doctor in his 60's or 70's and they were gone in a week!

A liquid cal/mag supplement before bedtime has worked well for us.
