Peeing in the vent wwyd?
My 2.5 yo, semi potty trained dd has decided that peeing in the heating vent is funny - I think she likes the heat+relief? Gross. She loves to be naked, which is fine with me - and loves standing on the vent - also fine. Peeing in the vent - not so fine. We have spoken sternly to her. Told her pee goes in the potty, etc. I don't think keeping her clothed is the answer as she can and does pull down her own pants. Haven't tried time outs.. Today was about the third time this month (that we know about
). Curious - WWYD?

OMG I have no idea what I would do but you have my sympathy! You may have to resort to timeout. It's not like you can make her clean it or takes the vents away...

Re: Peeing in the vent wwyd?
I think either time outs or making her wear pants which are hard for her to pull down. What about those plastic tops you can put on vents to re-direct air? I'm not sure if they stay on well but maybe you could tape them down.

Re: Peeing in the vent wwyd?
I would tell her first thing tomorrow morning that sitting on or stradling the vents is not allowed and remind her that doing things that aren't allowed results in timeout immediately, no extra warnings. I would also keep her near you for the next week or two and do a timeout automatically any time she sits on the vents. While sitting on a vent in and of itself is no big deal, you know what she is going to do next when she goes there, so I would head off another peeing incident and eliminate the sitting, and the peeing will be eliminated along with it.

Re: Peeing in the vent wwyd?
I have no advice, but you are making me so thankful that we didn't have heater vents in our old house when my two oldest kids were potty training- they would have each loved to pee in a vent.
Good luck

Re: Peeing in the vent wwyd?
I agree, let her know it won't be tolerated. Cover the vents somehow. Make her clean it up. My 8 year old still doesn't always keep his stream in the toilet

Thanks mamas! We can't cover the vents as that is how we heat the house but we are definitely going to try time out! Yet another one of those crazy problems you NEVER anticipate! Lol. Also perfect ammunition for her wedding day hehehe.

something like this may work
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20 Or http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20 The deflect where the heat goes so you still get heat
