Nursery Pics

We don't really do a nursery. I did with my first son, but he didn't sleep in his crib, and after that, we got rid of the crib for the other babies. We have two white dressers for nightstands, and the one on my side holds baby clothes. This time around I had nothing, as this was a surprised and our youngest is 7. So I have gotten most things from the thift store, if from a real store at a deep discount on clearance. I do still need to make a quilt, as that is a tradition I do for my babies. I want some pricier items, like a convertible carseat, Ergo carrier, Chicco stroller, and of course some cloth diapers. I did just score a free Moby Wrap, which is good karma, as I had three last time and I gave them all away to mamas who needed themonce we outgrew them.

But it would be so fun to decorate a nursery .

The baby won't use her room much for the first few months, but I wanted the nursery very badly anyways. We cosleep, but I wanted the option to put her in her crib for naps and have my own body for a couple of hours. I also just plain wanted a nursery. I was too poor to decorate a nursery for my first daughter, and I want to make a nursery that I'm really happy with now that I can afford it.

Finally was able to set up a small corner of our nursery. Still have a ways to go, but at least it is starting to come together and the room doesn't look like a disaster anymore. I still need to hang sheers around the windows and the chair will be moved once we finally move the desk out of the space.

I love the nursery, Jodie! What bedding did you choose to coordinate with that beautiful purple?

Thanks My goal this year was to learn how to sew, so I have sewn everything for the nursery. It has made decorating so much fun. For the bedding, I made a crib railing cover to hide horrible teething marks from DS and purple crib sheets that have a center strip of purple and white poka-dot.



I would have loved to have painted the walls a pale purple, but DS will be moving into the room in about a year once DD2 is ready to share with DD1. So taupe for now is what it is.

With my first, we didn't know what we were having, so I went very gender neutral. And then with our second, she just shared a nursery/bedroom with DS, so no planning there. This time, I am going a bit crazy and loving ever second of it.

Love it! The crib rail guard is a good idea! I should do that, DS never chewed on his but I'd rather be prepared!

OMGosh E_Sage, did you make those bunnies for the mobile? they are adorable and now they gave me the idea to make the mobile animals for our nursery! thanks a lot lol i sincerely didnt need another thing to do for the nursery and I am totally out of time! we have 3 weeks left and the nursery isnt done! still have to paint the floor and set everything up! not to mention wash everything!!!

Loving all the purple!! Giving me some cute ideas if this one is another girl. And I love that so much is handmade.

We are currently in a rental house while looking for a house so I wasn't planning on doing much (and being team green, isn't as much fun) but I ended up doing some fun things with primary colors. Will have to take some pics, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Thank you, yes, i did. They're felted with a felting needle. Our nursery isn't done yet, either, and I think the baby will likely have to come home to an unfinished nursery, lol! I'll post a progress pic tomorrow.

We are no where near finished, but here is some of the progress...don't mind the horrible lighting in some of the pics. No curtains yet and the rug one was taken at night...we didn't even have a crib mattress yet when these were taken, haha.



I have some SUPER cute metal carrots that we are going to mount on burlap and frame for over the crib!! I can't wait to get those up!! I'm also going to get some seed packets with bright pictures on them and hang them from twine with clothes pins about the closet/changing table I haven't found the storage boxes that we will actually be using for the changing table yet.
