Re: My Flip Daytime insert review with pics

I guess my phone ate the rest of my post earlier. I put DS to bed in these last night, which is scaaaaaary since he wets out of disposables sometimes and frequently poops first thing (which equals a giant mess). I haven't used cloth on him at night in a long time. I laid one out like an angel wing prefold, then trifolded a second one as a doubler and laid on top of an aplix Flip. Then I set him on it and wrapped the wings around him and fastened the cover since I can't find the pins and figured this would be more comfy anyway. The inserts are SO stretchy that it actually worked great to use the cover as the fastener. He didn't leak at all (the diaper wasn't even totally saturated!), had zero redness and even with a giant poop as soon as he woke up the "folded" diaper kept it from getting all over the cover. It was about the same amount of bulk as a snappied prefold with a hemp doubler.

I am SO thrilled with these. I ordered another 4 seconds aplix Flips for being able to rotate for nights (a total of 10 Flip covers once they arrive). I think I am going to go full time with these inserts instead of ordering more 7th gen. sposies.

How do the flats work on an extremely wiggly little boy. I have been a big fan of the stay drys until recently. I love the trim ness and the absorbency. They are one of the few diapers I have tried which will contain my heavy wetter. Lately I am having problems getting them on him without a lot of shifting and bunching. I am wondering how the flats when pad folded compare to the stay dry. Do they stay in place better? Right now by the time I get the diaper on the insert has shifted halfway down because he is so wiggly.

My dh just asked me why I didn't buy these ages ago instead of all the other stuff He really liked our Elementals so I wasn't sure what he would think.I had to explain that they were new lol. I wish these had been available when ds4 was born, I would have saved myself so much time, money and frustration! I bet these would be so great on a tiny baby. Although...I might be able to share reviews of using these on a newborn this fall if I get a BFP soon.

I think I really want these, since I really like their other organic cotton products. I can justify it because I'm prego now right???
