Help getting gum out of hair PLEASE!
Dd got gum in her hair on both sides. Its not like a huge chunk on each side more like she purposefully put small pieces of gum on each side of her head at about the hight of her ears. Its higher than I would want to cut off the hair considering I just recently cut 2 inches off the length. But if i cant get all of the gum out It will have to be cut short. Please help if you have any ideas. Im willing to try just about anything. Oh and she wont be allowed to have gum until she's at least 6 now. Shes almost 5 but still does things that just pop into her head, even if she knows its not good, or ok to do.

Re: Help getting gum out of hair PLEASE!
Peanut butter. Assuming she's not allergic of course. The oils in peanut butter will disrupt the stickyness. You may have to use a LOT of peanut butter and then comb it out. Be sure to use smooth, crunchy will work, but add to the mess.

Re: Help getting gum out of hair PLEASE!
I second peanut butter, works great... although then you have to wash and wash and maybe wash again to get the peanut butter out of the hair, but easier than the gum!

Yep, peanut butter. Awhile back, someone gave my DD some Flarp http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/fla...383353-product
and DD decided to roll it out and put in on her head like a crown. I used PB and didn't have to cut any hair. |

Re: Help getting gum out of hair PLEASE!
Any oil should work if you don't want to deal with peanut butter.

Thanks everyone, I have plenty of organic peanut butter and thankfully she does not have a peanut allergy.

Re: Help getting gum out of hair PLEASE!
Olive Oil works great. It is easier to deal w/ than peanut butter....although, I hope by now you have already gotten it out
There will probably be a next time!
