Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was more common with cloth or just harder to get rid of.

Re: Why are yeast infections so common?
Yeast rash is common in babies regardless of the diaper used. The diaper doesn't cause the rash. Yeast loves warm, moist, dark areas so the diaper area is a perfect breeding ground for it. I think if you were on a Pampers forum you would see quite a few posts about it too. Some babies are more prone to it than others. The only difference would be that with a sposie you throw it away and with cloth you have to disinfect them. Any time there is something like antibiotics added that alters the gut flora it is possible. My oldest is the only one to have a serious yeast rash and it was because I had to have antibiotics during labor. He was in sposies at that time. Had I known what I know now I would have been taking probiotics to avoid it. Best way to avoid it otherwise is to change diapers frequently, keep the baby dry, give their bottom lots of air time.

Re: Why are yeast infections so common?
Oldest wore sposies and next two wore cloth....none ever had yeast. I have a friend that experienced yeast with all of three of her kids, two of which were in cloth. It is not the diaper, but many other factors.

With 6 kids I have never dealt with any type of yeast infection.
I agree that it is over use of antibiotics, poor diet and lots of factors that are lowering the immune systems of individuals. Sent from my DROID RAZR using DS Forum

We've never dealt with a yeast infection. DD2 got a bleeding yeast rash while in disposables for a month on vacation but it was on the outside. I don't think I have ever had a yeast infection.

Re: Why are yeast infections so common?
Disposable diapered babies get yeast infections too. It's more of a "to-do" with CD babies so it can seem like more of an issue, at least that's my perspective.
