The only one I've been to was my cousins. He was closer to 12 but severely Autistic and nonverbal. None of us knew my aunts husband was nuts. He shot my cousin and himself. Children's funerals are so sad. Hoping everyone can find peace.

My DH had a son who died before the age of 3 (congenital heart defects), back in 2004, and as you all can imagine, it's something you never get over and always struggle with. I've done fetal echocardiograms as a way of helping him feel more at ease and relieve his fears about LO's heart/health. While I'd love to do a more natural home birth, between DH's fears/anxiety and our insurance, I'm opting for a hospital birth with as few medical interventions as possible.

Lots of hugs to you, I had to go to a 1-yr old's funeral. It was terrible.

I watch more business of being born and now im scared of dying!! Amniotic embolism......really??? Why is this not a main stream topic if so many women are dying???
Irrational? Yes. I know. Im probably 20 minutes from the hossy with traffic......not that far. I had two uncomplicated births in a hossy before. At least i think they were uncomplicated. What if i wasnt told something was out of ordinary by my dr? Idk. Gah. Im freaking myself out. |

Re: Chat Thread ~ Feb 10th - 16th
We went to take a tour of the perinatal unit at our hospital yesterday. It is tiny.
There are only a little over 200 babies born there every year, so they have a couple delivery rooms, a post partum room for c-section mamas, and a triage room. It's a brand new hospital, so everything is very nice. I asked about leaving before naming baby, and the nurse said it was completely fine...whew! She said we just need to come back within a week otherwise baby will be named Baby Girl or Baby Boy and then we have to go through the process of changing that.My OB happened to be there, so DH finally got to meet her. She said the the new midwife working with her won't have delivery privileges yet when I deliver, but I can go see the MW for appointments, which is awesome because she does appointments on Fridays!!!! That means I don't have to take an extra 200 mile trip just for a quick appointment. We can schedule some appointments on Fridays when we are in town anyway. That made me happy. ![]() Now we just need to find out about the insurance to make sure we get the exception for OB being in network.

My high school friend lost her little boy who was 3 (same age as DD). Her boyfriend accidentally shot him in the head. It was so terrible.
