prepping hemp, can I air dry?
I'm prepping some gcloth and babykicks doublers...Seems so wasteful to dry them in the dryer...Can I air dry them?
How many times do I really need to wash them? Does soaking help? I would rather not boil them... |

Re: prepping hemp, can I air dry?
Also, babykicks says to use detergent and gcloth says just hot water. If I'm prepping them together, do I use detergent??

Re: prepping hemp, can I air dry?
You can use detergent on both. Remember to use about 1/2 what you would use for regular laundry. I would use soap on the first wash and after just use water.
IF you plan to hang dry, I wouldn't think that would be a problem to prep them that way. Prefolds I think it was 6 wash/dry cycles to prep them. Hopefully someone else will chime in because I only did cotton.

Re: prepping hemp, can I air dry?
I don't air dry in general...But washing AND drying 6 times seems too wasteful to me...So at least I'd like to air dry...

Re: prepping hemp, can I air dry?
I boiled our baby kicks and then did one extra wash. Not sure how i prepped the gCloth. Def use detergent with both. I would say 2 times or so is probably enough to get the majority of the oils out, but may not be super absorbent.
If you are already washing diapers. After one or two prep just wash them with the dirty diapers. If you are pre baby, just save them out and wash them with the towel load every wash day until prepped.
