Best flat fold for a 7-week, 10-lb girl
Preferably with pics or a description, if anyone has the time. Wanna try some flats with dgd while I'm here visiting so dd can decide if she wants to get more. We have some swaddlebees flats and some fleece liners. She wets heavily so if there is a fold that'll make a thicker middle and still be small, that'd help.

The origami fold puts a lot of absorbency in the wet zone, but my favorite folds are the kite fold or the prefold fold. There are some great videos on YouTube that show the different folds if you know the names

I loved the mini kite fold with a preemie prefold doubler when our youngest was teeny tiny. I used small Diaper Rite flats and they folded up nice and trim even with the doubler inside.

If I use flats I go with the kite fold.

I use the mini kite fold on my newbie, but she is a lot smaller than yours (only 8 lbs). I find that we have great absorbency with our osocozy and flour sacks in Thirsties covers.

I love love love GMD size smalls, and they run big so your DGD is just the right size IMO.
We used the "prefold" fold (aka the newspaper or angel wing fold). Kite and origami never kept poo in for us. Then I quit fastening and I still use those small flats to this day (almost 3 yo), pad folded using the fold in my sig line, in pockets or PUL covers. Or a regular pad fold in gDiapers covers (this is amazingly cute and easy but gDiapers aren't for everyone).

Well I did the origami on her and there was just so much bulk in front! She's still only around 10 lbs (started at 6), so pretty small.

Re: Best flat fold for a 7-week, 10-lb girl
I think she was 10-11 lbs at 6 weeks. The size of the flat really makes a big difference. You might want to fold an edge of the flat in an inch or two before starting the kite fold or you can try the newborn kitefold. I think the swaddlebees flats are considered medium size flats where osocozy are considered small.
