Bumkins pockets?

I found some majorly discounted and bought 3. I washed them probably 3 times before use, and have used then washed about 3 times since- they are leaking straight through to my baby's clothes. Is this common, or do I need to keep washing or do something different?

I have some of these and haven't had any leaking problems. Although I have to make sure that the pocket stuffed enough to not get saturated quickly. Maybe they already have a detergent build up and need to be stripped? I like them and haven't had the same problem.
