If you need them, take them. The right antibiotic will likely be less harmful than a long term strep infection. I got a UTI from dehydration around 10 weeks. I had to do a ten day course of macrobid which made me nervous so early on. Everything seems to be going just fine though. Everything has risks, taking the meds, not taking them, you just have to work with your doctor to decide which risk you prefer to take.

I am type 1 diabetic so not being able to eat for two going on three days is no good. I ended up going in and getting the antibiotics and it's definitely strep. The dr said my throat looked horrific. Just like it feels!

I had amox for a really bad sinus infection, 1st or 2nd trimester I can't remember....my OB wasn't concerned about it in the least.

I am on amoxicillian now for a bad sinus infection went to the E/R on monday night, head was having such a migrane i wanted to put a knife thru my temple

it was awful. They gave me a painkiller (which made me not care about the pain as much) and Zofran and 2 bags of saline. Discharged me w/ my 1st doese of amoxi...i would never take meds unless i had too and this is the 1st time since i was 2yo i have been to an e.r.!!!!

I took antibiotics for a UTI which it turned out I didn't have. My daughter is fine. I had to take steroids with this pregnancy due to an allergic reaction. This baby does have a cleft palate but it would have formed before I took the steroids. I know the fear but it's also important to have a healthy body that isn't fighting illness and can focus on your baby. If you need antibiotics, take them and then take probiotics to get your flora back on track.
