selling question
I hope I'm not posting this question in the wrong place....sorry if I am.
I've bought quite a bit on DS, but I'm about to sell for the first time. I've got 4 kiddos and really don't feel like hauling them all to the post office just to figure out shipping amounts before I even get started posting. Anyway...I'm selling several wool covers, each piece being very light. I want to list everything PPD. How much would you estimate that I should figure into sell price on one piece to cover shipping and paypal fees? I realize this is going to be a VERY ballpark amount, I am just totally clueless and hoping someone could give me a tad bit of advice? Thanks mamas!! |

Go to ups.com and calculate what the shipping would be based on weight to a random zip. Here's a great tool for figuring out pp fees

Re: selling question
My totally unscientific estimate:
roughly $2.50 for 1 item, 1st class.

Re: selling question
I was going to say that ur seller costs should fall under $3 for 1 wool item - that should cover postage (1st class), paypal fees, and ur materials.
I have never paid more than $3 (for all expenses) for a single item under 13 oz. |

Re: selling question
I always estimate $2-$3 for shipping and fees. Good luck!

I always check PayPal fees and shipping costs before posting a ppd. You'd be surprised how much those two will take away especially with usps raising their rates.

I have found it best to scour the listings for items like yours. I sold a Sloomb cube here & apparently because you can buy them at Sloomb for $10 me asking $12 was not good. No stores sell them with free shipping so it is custom to list them at $12.50 to $13.50 on the Sbish B/S/T board. Here, nope, not so much. Buyers don't care what your pp fees or shipping costs are. They see they can get XYZ for $XX.xx there so they don't want to pay your price if it is more than the going rate.
This is just my experience though (and if you see my feedback you can see I sell quite a bit). I have even sold quite a few diapers in the past 2 weeks. Probably close to 20. Jodie ~ mama to Big K, Medium K & Lil' k

Re: selling question
I just purchase a cheap digital scale to take care of this problem for me. I'm so done packing my kids up to go to the PO!
