Sealing PULs

'Just received my first WAHM PUL diaper today! Since it mentions to seal it via hot drying, I was wondering if I should do that to every PUL diaper I have, even non WAHM like my Thirsties, Bumkins and Swaddlebees.

Re: Sealing PULs

I have never done an "initial" seal to any commercially made PUL diapers and never had issues with leaking. So they 'should' be ready to go.

I always wash them before use, but I generally air dry my PUL. I do occasionally machine dry my PUL diapers/covers (maybe once a month or less) to reseal the PUL if they seem to need it.

Re: Sealing PULs

I always do an initial seal of any PUL for ~20 min in a hot dryer. After that, I pretty much always air dry, maybe once a month I will dry things like BG Freetimes on warm (not hot) just to keep the PUL pliable. I mostly air dry because I also feel it saves your elastic a bit.
I've never had any problems with PUL except for one super cheap wet bag (got on eBay)....it has visible worn areas in the PUL despite never being washed with my diapers (ie/ never washed with bleach ever) because I use it for my flannel "kleenex" wipes only.
