Having trouble sunning stains out

I have a lot of very lightly used Lil Joeys that my DS has grown out of, and I'd like to get the stains out before selling them (are they worth more without stains?) However, I've washed them and put them in a sunny window (wet) 3-4 times now, and had no luck with the stains going away! It's all EBF stains, and they're fairly light, but it seems like everyone says "oh 10 minutes in the sun will get rid of all stains", which is not happening for me.

Is there something more I can do, or is there something I'm doing wrong? Do they just take a while to go away sometimes? When they were used they were washed every 2 days, and they were lightly used since I have a ton of prefolds and they were mostly to get grandma comfortable with CDing.

I have never had good luck with a window. The glass distorts the sun's rays and since it is winter the sun isn't as strong. Even if it is cold out you can hang them outside.

In the winter it takes two or three full days in the sun to get some of the really bad EBF stains out for me. I don't rewash each time, just wet in the sink.

In the summer--I have found the sun works much, much better.

10 min is not long enough IMO at all.

Thank you - that is good to know. I was getting really frustrated! I didn't realize it's harder in the winter. I'll try re-wetting them and hanging them outside to see if that helps.

I have learned time of year does matter. I am in AZ and in the summer, outside I can have stains gone in 15 minutes, BUT right now, outside could take hours, and in a window up to two days.

I take mine out of the washer damp, put lemon juice on the stains and lay them flat on my patio table all day long. It's worked every time for me

This worked beautifully - I diluted some lemon juice in a spray bottle and sprayed the stains and voila! All white again. Thanks!!
