I always aim to have dinner ready right around 6:00/ 6:30. Tonight, it's running very late (macaroni and cheese - seriously?), but it will work out just fine, since my hubby is running equally late after having stopped at Toys R' Us (searching for our son's birthday present).

5:30 kinda early IMO but we do lunch at 11:30 so the kids are hungry for dinner at 5:30
